FOX has been off the air for about a month. With football season around the corner, what is the best way to pick up FOX (HD Antenna does not pick it up)?

Get a Smart TV with Roku or similar and check for a free local station app, Pluto may also air the local channels and Plex maybe

We just bailed to YouTube TV. Its $100/mo compared to DirecTV at $200/mo

Feels like we exited an abusive relationship after 20 years.

YouTube also now has NFL Ticket if you want to add that.

I knew the price had creeped up, but even so it's "only" $73/month plus tax. Premium add-ons would raise the cost obviously.

Has pretty much every channel DirecTV does, with the notable exception of the Bally Sports regionals (formerly Fox Sports, like FSSW). So no Rangers, Astros, Stars, etc.

Had a few years and been happy with the service. Of course, unlike DirecTV, it is totally dependent on the quality/reliability of your internet connection.

except if there is a storm that knocks out your DirecTV, then it also knocks out your internet, so no real difference there for us.

I'm on DirecTV stream since ditching Suboptimal for Frontier fiber. This is getting frustrating. First MLB all star game, women's World Cup, now missing out on cowboys football unless I watch it on nfl network the next day or two.

I have Hulu (not plus) with the Disney bundle. So, I can't get the local fox channel there either.

If I was at DirecTV, I'd swap the Waco fox channel owned by Nexstar with another local ish Fox channel not owned by them, and go on about my business, and dispense with the hand wringing.

I hate that the locals are tied to Waco/Temple/Killeen around here. Just give us the Houston locals already.

Change zip codes and you get Houston local.

If you have a dish, not streaming.

It works with streaming. You just have to call them and tell them that you want a different service zip code than the billing zip code.

It's a pain, but it works.

Is this in conjunction withy satellite based Internet?

I only ask as a long time ago I had DirecTV and my Internet, even provided by TCA/Suddenlink/Whatever their name du jour is, was miles more reliable than DirecTV in inclement weather.

Now with cable, fiber and 5G services (in total costing less than I used to pay for Suddenlink by itself) my Internet has been the most reliable service in my house. There were times during storms when KBTX's OTA transmitter would be offline, but they'd still be broadcasting weather info through Facebook live or their own stream, and that worked.

Is this something done online or have to call in?

I think that we called. You have to have an address in the Houston viewing area.
