Anyone have or ever had one of those solar powered attic fans to help cool your attic? Curious if your experience. Seems like it would simply be sucking in hot humid air and might defeat the purpose and make things worse for the HVAC unit. Thoughts?

All the ones I have taken out have failed usually about 2-5 years after install. Proper ridge and soffit vents are my preference. 110 powered fans pull conditioned air into attic, use around $20-$30 in electricity a month in the summer months and usually burn up in less than 5 years.

pulling in 105* air from outside is still cooler than letting the 130* air in the attic stay stagnant. Proper soffit and ridge venting helps a lot with this, I'd start there

What about these old style vents?
