He has been charged with Invasive Visual Recording after he stuck his phone under a dressing room door in Walmart to record a minor trying on bathing suits. The girl grabbed the phone and gave it to her mom. The guy then backed the mom into a corner trying to get it back. Police were then called.

Everyone should be as aware of their surroundings as this young girl was.

My first time being summoned to jury duty was a case with a teacher accused of possessing child porn. I was juror 3, juror 2 was a guard in Huntsville. Defense asked the pool if we would consider probation since the defendant had no priors. Juror 2 said "hell no! I've got his cell mate picked out!" Even the defendant laughed.

I would assume if they have a good case prosecution has little incentive to plead down since public opinion makes this thing an easy win. Guarantee this isn't his first attempt. He got caught because the girl had the courage to grab his phone instead of just screaming.

I tried to post a screenshot of it. Staff deleted it. Apparently the "attach image" feature for paying members doesn't resize images and they didn't like that.

It's ten percent of $10,000, so $1,000. The felony he's charged with is the lowest degree of felony in Texas.

Looking at other sites, that offense is punishable for 180 days to two years. Max fine of $10,000

That is pathetic.

Hopefully more charges will be filed as the investigation moves forward.

What class of felony is it? That's what I couldn't find.

I know that if there are charges that can be added, CSPD will do it. Their detectives will dig for whatever they can when it's a sex crime. I know this from close acquaintances that have been victims, unfortunately.

It's a state jail felony, the lowest degree of felony in Texas. If he's sentenced to state jail instead of county jail (which is possible for a state jail felony) or probation, he'll have to serve at least eighty percent of his sentence.

I looked it up, and if he gets probation, he can be required to register as a sex offender as a condition of his probation, but it's not mandatory, and his registration will end when he gets off probation. If he ends up getting probation, he'll probably have to serve some time in county jail as a probation condition.

He was indicted for possession with intent to promote child pornography on September 25th, which is punishable by up to twenty years and carries lifetime sex offender registration. He was rearrested on July 1st and his bond is $110,000 (he's still in jail).

He was rearrested because the charge was upgraded from invasive visual recording to possession with intent to promote child pornography.

The court records say the motion to reduce bond was granted, so his bond was reduced, but the jail records don't say what his new bond is yet. I'll post when the jail records are updated.
