The Bryan city council unanimously approves a joint agreement to install traffic signals at University and the entrance to Veterans Park.

According to city background information, discussion about the project began following a rollover crash at the intersection in early 2021.

T&P for the drivers in the accident... I guess we cannot have long stretches of highway without a traffic light.
Growing pains I suppose.

It will definitely help with pedestrian crossing safety from the hotels across the street that fill up with groups using the athletics complex.

It's on the line. I presume that's why there was a joint agreement.

If you can't make a left turn across traffic (exiting Veterans parking) and turning to go West on University you shouldn't be driving.....

SO MANY STOPLIGHTS in this town following bad driving/bad accidents.

Ridiculous.

Every time 2 roads come together doesn't require a stoplight. Odds are 1 road should be given priority as a throughfare and the secondary road should have a stop sign. Hundreds of examples of this across town where 4 way stops should only be stop on secondary road. (WDF and Rock Prairie for example -> WDF should not stop. RP should have stop signs.

I don't know if it's a matter of drivers being incapable of doing it, or a matter of it being a major PITA (i.e., having to wait a long time for a suitable gap in traffic) to do so.

Why it's so hard to turn right, go down to the next signal, and make a U-turn is beyond me. It always annoys the heck out of me when I'm stuck behind someone waiting (and waiting, and waiting) to make a left across a major road (Lincoln at Texas being one of the worst.)

I'm still trying to figure out why they put in that signal at Nimitz and University.

Does this mean 300 yards of medians on each side now?

University already has medians from the RR tracks all the way to Boonville Rd.

Or just exit the park on the south side.....
