I really feel bad for the new owners to be honest. After it was purchased it was clear that the concept of a high end live music venue wasn't profitable downtown. It switched to a dance club that for the most part attracted a millennial crowd and had no issues for a year. When a bar on hwy 21 closed down because of violence and shootings that crowd moved to 3rd Floor a few months ago. They added extra security but were just unequipped and probably a little naive as to how bad things will get and how quickly.

Hopefully this is a wake up call and big changes are made and they'll rebound. Halo is a lot of fun, but a fun safe dance club off of Northgate that targeted an older crowd was a lot of fun as well. Just sucks to see it ruined by people with bad intentions.

New owner or tenant? The tenant is bringing in a Houston DJ with a following of the type of crowd that is causing this. Time for BPD and TABC to step up and enforcing the laws on the books. The City/State shut down the Top Shelf bar and the other bar on N Bryan a while back based on this same pattern of criminal activity.

Space in Downton Bryan is at a premium. I'm sure there are plenty of other entrepreneurs out there looking to bring in a venue more in line with the rest of the area.

Take the Padre Island/Spring Break club craziness back to Northgate where it belongs. Leave Downtown Bryan for the adults. Too many people worked too hard for too long to rebuild Downtown to have this happen.

3rd Floor a decade or so ago was a nice place to go to listen to live music. Went there many times.

Yup. You're right. Too many people have worked too many years to throw downtown's reputation away. Hope this problem is nipped in the bud right away.

It changed ownership in Dec. 21. It's progressively gotten worse since then.

The same happened with the Dirty Sock

"Shut it down"..are you serious? Many establishments all over town have had bad things happen over the years and we don't need to shut them down. Just off the top of my head…
Poets-murder in the parking lot
Backyard-stabbing
4 Downs- stabbing
Social-murder just outside
Too many fights and over served DUI drivers to list from literally everywhere else.
This could be a one off, the operator is obviously working on security, let's see how it goes. Let's also not act like downtown Bryan is some perfect gem that is really that popular outside of locals or will never have bad behavior.

You can shut it down, but that same problem crowd will find another bar or bars to hang out at and cause problems. This has been going on ever since Bryan shut down Knight Club, Top Shelf, and other bars with persistent problem patrons. They actually do show up in Northgate, too, just not as much on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday when CSTEP is out. The 100 block bars seem to be their favorites, especially Social. UPD even has problems with them, causing fights in the 30 lots. (I will say that any bar that plays country or Euro-pop is probably safe.)

The bar owner is probably going to need more than cameras. Either convince BPD to keep extra officers in downtown on weekend nights (they're as short manned as every other agency in the county, so good luck with that), or hire off duty LEOs on OT gigs
