He has to serve half of his sentence before being eligible for parole and before he pled guilty, he was facing a maximum sentence of 1,000 years (as part of the plea agreement, all charges except the murder charge were dismissed). 104 felony charges and eight misdemeanor charges were dismissed, for a total of 112 dismissed charges.
His prosecutor, Brian Price (one of the harsher prosecutors here), said at the Prosecutor's Academy (it was open to the public, so this isn't confidential information) that if the case went to trial, he would be asking for the maximum 1,000 years.
