Rain has been sparse since August. Each time we have a chance, it just falls apart. Great, temps are dropping...but no water to go with that front. Oof.

It's bad. Family member that has cattle only baled half the amount of hay they typically do.

Brazos County is now back in "Severe Drought" according to the latest Drought Monitoring Map: https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?TX

15 million Texans are in some drought-covered area. Through last week water demand in College Station was still 19-20 million gallons per day, which is way high for this time of year. As we move into cooler temperatures we need to cut back on irrigation to avoid fungal diseases.

If I'm not woken up by a tornado hitting the house tonight, I'll be happy.

Tornadic storm over Williamson County headed in our general direction. Tornado warning also issued for Milam County.

It was radar indicated, but a pretty good tornado signature for a brief time.

Edit: Tornado was very near Jarrell and likely crossed I-35. Reports of numerous vehicles off the road including tractor-trailers. The radar also had a tornado debris signature for a short time.

There is no tornado evident at this time, but one could easily spin back up.

So right now nothing is looking tornadic right now and the the NWS is going to let the tornado warnings expire.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Brazos County.

Sounds like right now it is mostly a wind threat with possible quarter size hail.

Yeah, I'm betting we have a ton of dead trees from the drought falling tonight. I chopped one down a couple weeks ago. It would been on my fence by now.

Rocking and rolling here. Power has cut out several times, but come back up 5-10 seconds later.

About 5000 without power in Bryan and Brazos County.

CS up to about 500 out.

Looks like the worst is moving out quickly.

BTU looks to have the bulk of their outages back up. Major remaining concentration looks to be in the area of SH-47 and Leonard Rd.

Those crazy wind gusts and the amount of old windows/sliding doors in our bedrooms had us camped out in the bathroom for a short bit.

Need to go investigate the tree limb situation this morning.

I really think I had swirling wind on the west side of Bryan (off Leonard and 47). Tree branches down. I had some long metal that was being stored and a couple pieces got bend back but I have a small goat hauler (fits in a truck) that was blown the opposite direction. Same with a tree next to my sheep shelter. Branches broke the way you would expect with the direction of this storm but the back side of the roof of the shelter was blown back the opposite direction.

Main damage besides the sheep shelter was a large branch broke and dented my metal garage roof enough to cause it to leak. Plus I am pretty sure I heard some hail during the worst of it.

Time to find a roofer today to get an estimate on the garage. Hopefully not too bad and I don't have to file a claim. Everything else is just clean up and chainsaw work.

Saw a tree down on Walton at Francis. Might be resting on a truck.

so many trees down in my neighborhood, across villa maria form midtown, i wonder if we had some microburst or small tornado.

Was driving home after the gym around 10:20, and when there was lightning last night the sky was green

Can confirm on the green sky. This was out of my back window in Anderson at 10:20pm, facing NW. This wasn't a flash of lightning - the sky was permanently this color because there was so much continuous lightning that it just looked like dusk.
