You want a ban, don't you…

I don't, I was saying they can delete the second post, but I didn't want the first post to be three paragraphs, which is why I separated it into two posts. It makes more sense to have two posts, since the third paragraph in my first post wasn't about the article in the post, so it warranted a separate post.

It really doesn't.

As long as you use paragraphs, it's perfectly acceptable to introduce different ideas in the same post

I edited my first post to include the third paragraph and deleted my second post, so that solves the issue.

[The only thing that is going to solve the issue is for you to stop using multiple posts to make a point and bumping your thread to the top or you getting a long ban. -Staff]

His Brazos County trial is scheduled to start on December 4th.

You have the right to a speedy trial, we just don't have that ability….

After the Brazos County trial, he'll still have a trial in Grimes County for shooting Trooper Tovar, so it'll take even longer for the case to be resolved.

His Brazos County trial was delayed again and there's no new trial date.

By virtue of what he did, the guy is ****oo for Cocoa Puffs, and now, we have to ship him off to Rusk in hopes he gains some sanity. That about right?

He better watch out for Karl Childers in there. I'm sure there is someone similar.

You said you're pro death penalty and you support him getting life without parole if it was possible, but would that only be if he pled guilty in exchange for life without parole to avoid the death penalty, or would you think he should get life without parole even if he was convicted at trial?
Even if he has a trial and is found guilty, I am for life with no parole.

Imprisonment is so expensive so I don't want a 2 or 3 million dollar cost just to execute him.

As noted above, a prison farm would be a great option.

Do people who get life without parole not appeal?
lethalninja

They appeal, but they get the same amount of appeals as non-death row inmates, and death row inmates get more chances to appeal.

Just wondering if it is such a big difference in legal costs. It would seem not.

The death penalty is more expensive than life without parole, but neither are options in this case, since he's not charged with capital murder. If he gets the maximum sentence in Brazos County, it'll be life with the possibility of parole after thirty years, and if he gets the maximum sentence in Grimes County, it'll be the same thing, so if he gets the maximum sentence in both counties and the sentences are consecutive, it'll be life with the possibility of parole after sixty years.

I was wondering from the comment earlier and more in general than in this case in particular. I always hear the argument that death penalty cases cost so much more as far as legal fees/appeals. I just do not see it as cases involving life sentences also have appeals AND the added bonus of any lawsuits brought over the entire time the inmate is in prison. I feel this is often thrown out as a defense of life over the death penalty, but seems to be a false argument overall-or certainly not a big enough factor to be seen as an overriding factor. Just wondering overall-not a big deal in reference to this case.

Today is three years since he committed the shooting. According to the court records, there will be a decision in December on whether or not he's competent to stand trial.

His trial is scheduled to start on July 14th (it was originally supposed to be in July 2022 and the shooting happened in April 2021).

Bring back prison working farms in TX. That would scare most bad guys.
And put them in military tents with no air conditioning in the summer time and heat to about 45 degrees in the winter months.

This guy is going to cost the taxpapers a few million dollars before it's all over.

Since the folks who pick our fruits and vegetables have gone back to their ****hole countries or are in hiding, rent these prisoners to other states to do that work. Cheap labor, and Texas makes some $$. And we still get our reasonably priced food.
