Even the non-joke answers have no sense of scale when it comes to buildings. The Hall of Fame was a 22k square feet building, the current building is around 84k square feet. Without demolition (and demolition will realistically be small strip mall buildings similar to what's already there), it only makes sense as a large retail store.Tim Weaver said:

The Hall opened when A&M was probably 20,000-25,000 students. We've tripled that now.
