Did you admit to the cop that you were driving 77?

If so, you have ZERO chance of getting this tossed.

Zero.

And do you want to take a whole day and go to trial to argue that you were breaking the law but not by much? I doubt a jury is going to side with you there.

Seriously, just do defensive driving and move on. Hell, you could have already gotten the ticket dismissed by now.

They won't dismiss it based off the fact they "usually" don't give tickets. Again, trust me, I completely understand. My situation was similar to yours. I was popped for going 72 in a 50... when I was pulled over about 40 yards before the speed limit turned 50. I should have taken a pic but just wasn't thinking in the moment. When you add up the costs and time and headache of fighting it, it's just better to pay it and move on. No matter how unfair it seems to be.

That's just my opinion of course. But I strongly believe your best bet long term is to just take care of the ticket and get on with your life.

another thing to note: On my ticket it says "for going more than 10% over the posted speed limit" so at 77 in a 75, I was not going more than 10% over. Thats why I think this is worth fighting. There is a buffer zone at which they *usually* do not give tickets. So If i can somehow show that I wasn't more than 10% over than i shouldn't have received a ticket.
Dude. Stop fighting it. You're not going to convince anyone you weren't speeding.

Take DD, submit the fine, and move on with life.
