What is the latest?

The last I remember is the Lakeside Icehouse. Anything currently in there? Any plans for anything?

That's a tough place to make a profit with the slow weekdays and poor weather weekends . What they need to do is allow food trucks to come in on weekends and set up in a circle around the parking lot. Someone could also bring in some bounce houses and other things for kids to do and charge a minimal amount.

With some entertainment and some advertisements, it could become a destination for a lot of people on many weekends.

Go there on the weekends, it's already a destination for lots of people.

We go there often also, but obviously not enough to support a restaurant as many have failed there.

It was good for a short period of time when Noe was in the kitchen and the owner was bringing in good (adult) live music. Ray Wiley, James McMurtry, Billy Joe Shaver, Terri Hendrix, etc, etc.

Those were good times and the restaraunt was making money then.

Yep. Went there a lot back in those days. That sun was sure hot setting over the lake in August!

Bryan Lake could be a gold mine if they would allow development. Couple new docks that allow boats to pull right up to the establishment. Good live entertainment etc.

I really feel like it is a wasted resource, could really be a great family spot like it was in the days when Barry ran it.

Call ahead to make sure they are open. Someone mentioned they drove out and it was closed. I think they reduced hours due to Covid of course.

Putting a dock on Bryan Pond would reduce the water surface by about 23 percent! lol

meh 850 acres and 40'+ deep is slightly larger than a pond

If they did that it would be more worth it to go out there

Compare it to Lake Waco which is so small you can cover it end to end in about a half an hour at pontoon boat pace.

Surface area: 8,465 acres

Maximum depth: 90 feet

Lake Bryan is tiny by "lake" standards. Even in a kayak you can cover the whole shoreline in a day. If you've ever been out there skiing or fishing when it's busy it gets to be quite the traffic jam sometimes.

They should build a bigger lake around here somewhere. A REAL lake!

Well the purpose of lake Bryan isn't recreation in the first place, it's just an added benefit.

Lake Belton is YUGE and not that far away. Lots of our friends with boats go there for the day or weekend.

This.

You don't just "put" a lake somewhere.
