I live near 2818 and Villa Maria in Bryan, something smells really bad like sulphur/burning tires. My mom lives across town and smells it also.. what could it be? Called non emergency number and they have been receiving calls on it and are checking into it

Yeah, I've been smelling it as well.
In the Oaks here and we're smelling it too.
The fire departments are running all over both cities looking for it, can't find anything.
I smelled it near the College Station Walmart and the West Bryan Walmart. The smell is really strong and smells dangerous. The first think I thought was some sort of chemical attack by the North Koreans. Then maybe a smell coming from Houston. Idk.
Wind is out of the north, so it's not blowing in from Houston.

I figured it was sewer/sewage related to all the rain.

Best Korea? That would require them having the technology to get it here. Even then, I think B-CS would be pretty far down the target list.

Smelling it south of town, too (near Rock Prairie and Longmire). I thought I was crazy - hubby couldn't smell anything.
I smelled it over by Academy. Smelled like quail feathers to me. I know that's a weird way to describe it, but that's what hit me when I smelled it.
I am going to say is part of the chemical plants affected by the hurricane.
Smells like Channelview, Galena Park, Pasadena, and any number of refinery towns.
Come on people, all those military aircraft have been gassing us for the last few days!
I would say it's not the chemical plants. The winds are from the North this afternoon and evening. I can't imagine smells from the coast making it all the way around the rotation of the storm and still having something left to smell by the time it got here. Maybe it's not as simple as I think it is.
We first smelled it around 5 or so. I had similar thoughts as some of the kbtx FB page, skunky, tar or burnt rubber smell. The reports came from as far away as Edge, over to Traditions, far south of town. It will be interesting to hear what it actually is.

I lived near a very active Air Force base for 35 years. That's not it.
Was it that C-130 from earlier. Maybe exhaust came down from inversions?

We live in Rosewood off of Villa Maria by 2818. I thought it was a skunk. It was pretty strong for awhile.
Smelled it on F & B Road. Smelled like a decaying animal.
Possibly natural gas/sewage? It smelled like a skunk behind Academy. But when we got to church less than a mile away, I didn't smell anything at all
We live a bit south of Wellborn, and I smelled it around 6:00PM while getting ready to go to work. It smelled mostly like hot asphalt/rubber to me, with just a hint of skunk to it as well.
Ya know, it is weird. But just a day or so ago, I read a story of some other city in America with a strange smell that no one could figure out. I forget where it was. But here we are with the same issue. Hmmm...

My husband said it was a skunk - I'm glad I'm not crazy I thought it was something like gas. Then our internet was down all night... Spooky. I'm off of Greens Prairie.

That's a heck of a skunk to smell from greens prairie to Briarcrest drive.
To me it smelled like skunk mixed with fertilizer
I saw reports of the smell as far north as Edge. Definitely not sewer discharge if it's that far ranging.

I'm near the wastewater facility off carter creek this morning and it def stinks over here...I wonder if that's part of the smell. I haven't smelled anything until I came near this area
