That's exactly it.Fonzie Scheme said:
Comparing Gander to Academy is apples and oranges. Some similar inventory but Gander is more of an outfitter while Academy is a sporting goods store.
This Gander Mtn didnt make the cut because it's prices sucked and, even with its gazillion firearms, it couldn't outperform a much smaller -- locally owned -- store that has far more competitive prices on guns.

As long as people aren't going to squat on the building (cough*Albertsons on University*cough) then someone will take those buildings soon that aren't churches. Imagine if the Gander Mountain became a supermarket, it's about the right size for one (66k sq. ft., a bit smaller than the H-E-B stores but comparable to Kroger). (source)
Unless you live on the street that they use for the connection. Plus the cost would almost be prohibitive. Carter Creek comes right up to the south border of Raintree. Part of the area on the south and east side of Raintree has been designated by the city as protected wetlands. I don't think CS would pay for an environmental impact evaluation on top of $$$$ for a bridge and drainage.Demon 8 said:PS3D said:

There would only be one way in/out via the feeder. You can get to Kroger from Rock Prairie, Longmire and the feeder. It'd be nice if they connected it to Raintree

The word in the hunting/fishing/guiding world a few years ago was that the upper levels of Gander Mtn., didn't care to be competitive or actually put much effort into it at all. Not sure why that would be the case, but I was told that they didn't even try.Demon 8 said:
That's what happens when you refuse to be competitive with your prices.

?? The live music scene is booming around here. It's great but tiring.SAWgunner said:Rexter said:

This. I don't think people realize how much losing the Hall hurt the live music culture scene in BCS. I expect Harrys will be gone in a few years as well.
Yeah, lets put that in South College Station!Alte Schule said:
We could use another Dollar General. They seem to be springing up everywhere. Or a Papadeaux's. Oh wait, we already have....never mind.

That piece of land has served that purpose before. It was a driving range.
