Beautiful birds...once saw one beat up three vultures trying to muscle in on its food.
I've seen a couple in town this year too. Normally I just see them out in the country side in the pastures.


I had never seen one until I started working near Bastrop.

Now I see them everyday. Might be the same few.

Caracara used to be pretty rare north of Lockhart area. Several years ago started moving in, now are pretty common year around. Will attack a newborn calf and kill it too if given a chance. Seen it happen here in Brazos Co.
