On the extra point block / return for 2 pts. by Calallen, the Calallen return guy was down before he scored. This was the points difference in the game. You can't say the game would have been played the same had this call been correct (and thus a CS win instead, but you can say the 2 point differential is the margin between a CS win vs. loss.

Tough call to stomach. Refs were probably out of position and running to catch up to the abrupt change of field on this return. Otherwise seemed to be a well called game.

Let's be honest. Make two extra points like you have all season and that play doesn't matter Calallen was the better team tonight and they won.

Let's be honest: the team got hosed by absolutely horrible officiating. That entire series of events changed everything, so don't give me that "just make the extra points" crap. The refs injected themselves into this game and it made the difference. Helen Keller would've known that kid was down.

Last weeks officiating in their game against FB Marshall was pretty awful too. Missed holding calls galore

Quick random question- why does CS have Nike uniforms for their home games but Adidas for away games?

bc they are not under contract with any brand so they can buy whatever uniforms they like. The icy whites and grey are new this year, the black and purple are old.

That game last night was incredible on both sides. Sure there may have been some missed calls that proved to be critical, but you have to win regardless of what the officials say. Nevertheless, what an incredible season by College Station. That group was about as tight as it could get. They came up just a little short, but they continued to fight with everything they had until the end. That is the most important part in all of this because that was the type of team they were. They played for each other and never just gave up. Calallen was a very talented football team, but also one with extremely high class. The two schools joined together at midfield following the game for a giant prayer. It's bigger than the game itself, and experiences like these help develop the strong character the College Station coaches try to instill in each of their players every single day. It's sad that it's all over, but College Station should be proud of everything they accomplished along the way. It was a treat to watch them play on Friday's this fall. Their run also raised the standard of excellence for this program. It was the first time they had advanced this far, but without a doubt will not be the last and they could very well return to that level in the near future. College Station High School is setting the bar higher each and every year in everything they do, and this football team added to that. Congrats to Coach Huff, the rest of the coaches and every single player on a spectacular season. And best of luck to Calallen, who earned a hard-fought win last night, next week against Aledo. Bring home a title Cats. It's been fun, Go Cougars!

The thing that got me about the 2 point play was that the officials initially ruled that he was down and then decided to change the call.

The one that reversed it was many yards away from the play, there was no way he could have seen it, he had nothing to go off of to overturn it. That was bad. Even if he think he saw something, he was wrong. There's a picture going around on Twitter right now that shows the Calallen player's knee down by the 2 yard line. It sucks and was clearly the wrong call, the ref should be held accountable and hopefully a tape or something will be sent in. It stinks that their inability to make the correct call affected the game as much as it did.

That said, that's football for you. Proud of the Cougs!

Thank you for the great recap, AggieAlex. Great football in the Brazos Valley this year and actually, great fall sports play in general (I'm looking at you Volleyball, Cross Country, and Team Tennis). Ok...so honest question then. Why not take down all post regarding the officiating? Why are the post blaming the referees for CS losing the game still up?

[Because we are volunteers and sometimes we miss something when we are cleaning up a thread. That happens from time to time since we have actual jobs and don't monitor these boards 24/7. Sometimes we delete posts that may not have required deletion and sometimes we miss some that should be removed. From time to time we also have to clean up complaints on thread to keep it from getting derailed by posters that don't understand that simple fact and think that there is a giant conspiracy to keep people silent.
