While I hate going to a dealership of any kind, I would definitely prefer using 1ags' hookup. Unfortunately for me, both times I have inquired about an F-150, the dealership(s) I was working with beat the 1ags hookup price. Most recently being college station ford. I wouldn't say the salesman there are the most knowledgable, as my salesman was a kid right out of school who didn't know jack about trucks (probably drove a Kia). But I do my research and fully expect to know more about the vehicle I'm buying than the salesman.

I was going back and forth between the F150 and Silverado. Went to Tom Light before CS Ford. The guys there weren't willing to work with me at all. Didn't get them to budge on the sticker but maybe $1,000 for the Silvy and the truck had been sitting there for a long time. Never even got a phone call from them to this day to ask if I was still in the market.

I have to say my wife and I had a really bad experience with College Station Ford. A few years ago we had a 2013 Ford Escape which we wanted to trade in for a 2011 Ford Explorer. The Explorer price seemed good so we decided to give it a try. When we got there we got this young college kid (working part-time) that had very little knowledge about the cars as well as the pricing. After spending half a day test driving and evaluating different options we were ready to buy the car, assuming they would give us an average price for the trade-in. When talking price, they started adding all kinds of fees (lot fee, etc) on top of the advertise price (never mind trying to talk them down anything). I should have walked out at that moment but they finally gave up on some of those bogus fees. They took our 2013 Escape for an evaluation. I have to say there were a few cosmetic issues with the car, so I wasn't expecting the highest price, but when they came back with the price I thought I wasn't hearing well. They offered us $10K for trading in a car valued at at least $17-18K (they were selling the same car for around $19K on their lot). This was one of those few times when I felt really humiliated, especially given the fact that we wasted half of our day and all these time we were assured that we will get a good trade-in value on or car. So, if you ever want to trade something in to College Station, Ford, please don't even bother. Just sell your car on craigslist and go with the cash. Although, with the experience I had, I would not even bother stepping foot on their lot again.

That is about the same as experiences I have had with them even when they were Varsity Ford. The only reason I even gave them second, third and fourth chances is because I like Ford vehicles and I actually wanted to buy locally. I never did buy a ford here and I think they must have the same people running CS Ford because their behavior and tactics haven't changed. Henson Ford in Madisonville has gotten my business every time, so far. I hear the dealership in Navasota is pretty good to deal with, as well, but I have no personal experience with them.

Navasota. Last 2 F150s have come from there and they've beat CS Ford by quite a bit both times.

I tried to buy several ford's from varsity, but they always had issues new trucks that wouldn't start horrible customer service and rude employees lead to me walking out. I would not advise for anyone that was seriously interested in buying a truck to go to varisty or what ever the new name of it is. Oh and this was while I was working with simba.

Okay, this from a few yrs back at Varsity:
Me: I'm looking for a F-250, dark in color, standard transmission, etc
Salesgoober: I think we might have just what you want...and walks me out to a white F-250 with an automatic

Much discussion later....
Me: I'll just order what I want, and am willing to pay $xxx over invoice
Salesgoober: I can't do that, I just sold my Dad a truck, best I could do was $2x what you said...

After more negotiating, and a sales guru/manager got involved, the truck was ordered at my stated $xxx...

When I left, I was soooo tempted to say "if you have a Dad, did you really screw him over on a truck deal?"

So I just need to vent here about my piss ****ing poor experience here. I had a bad experience at Varsity back in the day with the finance guy. Swore I'd never do business again there. Looking at trucks and talked to a few different places. On a whim I went ahead and emailed CSF told them what I wanted and what I'd pay for it. Sales guy gets back to me and says we can make that number happen, just finance through ford for the extra rebate and then refinance. I'm ok with that so we setup a time to meet this morning. I told him I'd have my family in tow and that I needed this to be a speedier transaction than the last time. Yeah...didn't happen. Everything is going good, but it seems they only have one finance guy and he was in with someone forever. They call in a new finance guy to come help out which takes a while. Frustrating but things happen I get that. Finally get in with the guy and base number looks good, but there is all this BS paint protection, gps, etc fees adding another $1500. Told him that was not what we agreed on. He walks out and comes back in and apologizes but they can't make the sell without those extra addons. Walked right out. What a waste of time this morning was

If you ever want to give them another shot - don't. Its the same crummy business as it was before with the same shady business practices.

There's a woman I used in Navasota. Earlene? Something like that. I loved her.

Also, you may want to change your phone number now. I have had multiples calls within hours from them. And multiple emails on the very same day. It's unreal.

+1 on Earlene. She has done a great job for me on two separate occasions.

I've already called her with questions about my next vehicle. I purchased one for my husband several months ago with her. I will likely be purchasing a new one for myself in October. She had a lot of insight to our timing and plan and even called back to tell me more that she had thought of.

Ended up going to planet ford. Guy was great we were done in no time. It took them longer to detail and fill up than getting everything else done. Highly recommend them. Got the same exact truck for the same price that csf had originally agreed to.

Oh they can call and email me if they want to get an earful of what I think about them. I don't see it happening though after how it ended.

I'm a Bryanite and proud of it, but that's hardly a reason to not do business with someone. They are in CS, after all.

I can tell you another place not to go. Lonestar Ford on I-45 south of Spring. I dont know about new vehicles, but the used car manager over there is a straight up liar. I was seriously considering buying another truck over there this year, until I had to deal with that guy for another issue that there was absolutely no reason for him to lie about. That guy is a piece of work!
