Had carryout the other night - just basic Pad Thai. I won't say it was excellent, but it was good enough to want to go again. It seemed to be just slightly under-flavored or under-sauced or something. But, we'll definitely give it another try - some Thai food is better than no Thai food!

Ate there a week or so ago. It was very good. I agree the "heat" was low. I normally order "medium" in a Thai restaurant on first outing. It was relatively mild so I will step it up next time, which, after reading this thread, may be today or tomorrow.

their spring rolls.. meh... pho jons are much better..

wifes pad kee mao was nice... but she ordered mild and i thought it was spicy...

Don't know why my first response is empty and I can't edit it so I'll repeat it.

I've noticed that on some dishes, they use crush red pepper and on others, they use what seem to be Thai chili peppers. You definitely notice the heat difference even though I always order medium. Perhaps if you want it truly spicy, you should ask if they'll use Thai chili peppers instead.

Now that I've made it through more of their menu, I have to say that Thai taste did do some of the dishes and definitely the soups better. But there are several things on the menu they definitely do better like the flat noodle dishes or very well like the beef larb.

My wife is Thai and we are coming back home to CS in a couple of months. Looking forward to trying it out and see what she thinks. We were not impressed with Lanna Thai so hopefully this will be better. I know you really can't compare it to what we have here in Thailand. Like the above poster said its better than no Thai food.

I don't think pad thai is normally one of the Thai dishes that are supposed to be super spicy.

Can some of you Thai food experts recommend how to get started with this menu for a Thai food newbie? I know Pad Thai, what should I try next? Soup? Another noodle dish? Give me your top four and we will try them all this weekend. Two of us like spicy and one likes a little spicy, and one likes no spicy, if that matters.

The curries are a great place to start.

Called in a to go order for tonight and everything was excellent.

The only thing Thai that I have ever really eaten was curry so I got a green curry with pork. I like the Pei Wei curry but this was much better! She asked how hot I wanted it and I went with medium. Medium was pretty dern stout. I'm from Louisiana and eat my share of cayenne pepper so I would think most people might want to order it mild. You better be serious if you order it hot.

With the help of google I also ordered a Pad Thai and Lad Na. I didnt car for the Pad Thai. Think it had anise in it which I dont care for but my wife thought it was great. I ordered it mild and the spice level on it was good for my wife but still a little too hot for the kids.

We both thought the Lad na was excellent. No spice in this dish. The broth was top notch.

One thing for sure, everything had good attention to detail that you never see in the usual oriental places around town. I get bored and It was nice to find something with unique flavors. If you are looking for something different, give this place a shot.

For non spicy, I recommend the pad see ewe. I also recommend any of the fried rice... it's very different from the Chinese fried rice you've probably had and imho, much better.

For spicy, any of the curries but I'd start at medium. I personally prefer the panang curry but I haven't had any of the other two from there yet.

For soup, I liked the tom yum koong. I didn't care that much for their tom kha kai. I've had better.

I don't recommend the chicken satay. I thought it was flavorless and dry. The pad ped seafood was meh. The ginger dish was meh too.

I don't think you're ready for the somtum salad (green papaya salad) which I do like.

the Garlic and Ginger dishes are good as well (you get to pick your meat... I would suggest chicken or beef).

And they don't have to be very spicy (order them mild if someone doesn't like spicy).

Wow, had the pad woonsen, because the clear noodles sounded interesting, had it at a "1" and everyone who tasted it thought it was plenty spicy. In fact, it seemed as spicy as another dish we ordered at a "2" but I know from making enchilada sauce that you can not always anticipate heat in a finished dish, you can only try. It was still delicious. The Kluay Kluay Seafood got high praise. The chicken satay we did not care for, just tasted like chicken. I look forward to trying the soup when it is not 100 degrees out. I hope this place makes it - the food is fresh, the place seems clean, the people are friendly and are working as hard as can be. They may start with delivery like Dragon One did, if there is enough interest.

Oh, and portions are large, prices are reasonable ($10 for a chicken, veg and noodle dish that was large enough for lunch leftovers). The coconut water tasted better than other coconut waters that I have had from the grocery store.

Ate there on Friday and had delicious Thai tea and Pad Khee Mao. Was not as spicy as my usual but very flavorful. Big portions. Also had great salad and soup when dining in, complimentary. Highly recommended.

I like the place a lot, and ate there today for lunch. But I'm still having trouble getting dishes as hot and spicy as I like, and the amount of grease they use is really quite amazing.

Best in town these days IMO. Still, not in the same league with Thai Taste....or even My Thai north of Hempstead.

I've been twice in the last week and tried the curry both times. The first time I had the Panang Curry with Shrimp at dinner (Medium) and it was the spiciest "medium" I've had at any Thai restaurant, mainly because Panang is already a spicy dish. Delicious and full of veggies with 8 large shrimp and plenty of rice. My second visit was at lunch and I tried the Massaman Curry (Medium) with chicken and the spice was just right. It came with an egg roll, bowl of soup and a side salad. All pretty standard but good. Price for lunch is excellent (under $10) but meat portion is halved compared to dinner portion. My wife had the Jungle Curry with chicken that is the only non-coconut milk based curry on the menu. Very aromatic and full of flavor. Some friends had the Pad Thai (Hot) and it was not as hot as the curry. so if you like HOT, I would go Thai Spicy on the Pad Thai, and knock it down a notch on any curry. Certainly the best Thai food in town and I will be back!

Went last night with a colleague visiting from out of town. Business was spilling over. Food was great. Finally a Thai winner in BCS. Hopefully Lanna Thai steps up their game; they are good people.

I have been looking for a place in town that has Thai Spring rolls. I never checked out Lana Thai, but after looking at their yelp page, i now see they had them!! Only it says they are closed. Does Kluay have them?

Safe to say it's veg-friendly. Pineapple fried rice with veggies (cooked carrots, onions, tomatoes and baby corn) is my go-to. It comes with fried egg, but you can ask to leave it off. Had it tonight, in fact! Hadn't been there in awhile, but it's what my tween wanted for mom/son date night. He likes the pad see ew with veggies. Pretty sure that's vegetarian, as well. If you eat dairy, they also have some interesting ice cream desserts.
