I called today to switch from DVR to TiVo and also asked some questions about the internet cap and how streaming affects it. I asked if I streamed one movie everyday if I would go over, and I was told "oh no, you don't have to worry about that if you do a movie everyday". I also asked if there was a way that I could check on how much I was using that way I know if I need to slow down or if I can watch more, and she told me that I can sign up for an account online and it will show me all of that info. So, I don't know if that's the account I already have, or if there is something else I need to sign up for. I guess I will ask the tech when he comes out this weekend to switch it over.
To set up the account where you can see your usage online, you need your account number and a PIN. IIRC, when I set ours up, I didn't recall having a PIN, so I had to go to the office in Bryan to get one. It was the same time that I was doing something else, so it wasn't a big deal. Once you have those, you set a username and password and an email address for reminders in case you forget your username or password. This is also what you use to get access to SECN+ on WatchESPN, so if you're an Aggie sports fan it's worth setting up (although that will increase your usage!).
When you have those, you have to drill down through "My account", "My services", and "Internet Usage" to get a popup that shows how much you've used this month. That popup has yet another set of links with daily and monthly usage graphs. I find it kind of annoying that you have to drill down so far to see the info, but it's there.
