Caracara and Bald Eagles both can be seen in our area. There is at least one pair of Caracara I have seen in the area around my house occasionally for the last several years. There are also several around the Caldwell area. They are mostly scavengers, and I have seen them on deer carcasses and other roadkill.

Bald Eagles generally are only here during Fall and Winter, and usually mostly around larger bodies of water that can supply the fish they eat. Lake Somerville is home to several eagles during the winter.

I can see where some people could confuse the two, since they both have a white head as adults. Both of them are a couple of my favorite raptors to see and photograph.

Growing up there were jackrabbits every where. Then a disease in the 1980s decimated the jackrabbit population. Thirty years later I still rarely see one, and I travel around the state pretty frequently.

Coral snakes are not unusual around here...have found two in my backyard. They are oddly gentle little creatures, considering what they're capable of (related to cobras).

When I run thru castlerock in AM about 6, I never count less than 40 rabbits throughout the neighborhood.

Cottontails are all over the place the last few years.

And mice ksp. Castlerock park around the toddler area is ground zero for the mice infestation.

I saw my first jackrabbit locally this past spring out near Saddlecreek, along Straub road. It was quite the fast sprinter!!

Right dave!!

Luis we set up Volley ball nets in the park for my daughter and her select team to practice on. One day a mouse came running out and ran across on of the girls foot. We laughed our butts off at her dance trying to get away.

Lots there too lol

ksp, my toddler son wants to play "tag" with them. My wife usually disagrees with him.

I've seen your group then.

ksp, yes, in one of the cul-de-sacs off Rocky Vista. If I get home not too late from work, I try to take my son to the park so he can run around before bedtime.

We have Bald Eagles at Camp Creek, near Franklin. In fact, I saw one on July 4th! Too cool, to say the least!
