Has anyone seen the house that was just built on Welsh that is turquoise blue? It looks like a house in the Bahamas. I just don't think that was a very good idea for a home in the historical district. Any opinions?

HIDEOUS is all I can say. We were looking for some property to buy, tear down and rebuild for rentals. Definitely won't do it around there. Really brings the whole feel of being near the university down.

Sounds like you need to get out of the historical district if this is your intention. Try the area on the east side of Texas Ave., bounded by Southwest, Holleman, and Dartmouth.
Turquoise is a nice color. Sounds like a pretty house.

Out of curiosity, I just drove by there. It's the one I the east side of the road that is still under construction? No yard yet?
It's fine. Not a color I would choose, but fine for a rental property.
It's south of Park Place, too close to Holleman to be what I would consider the "historic" area, and in a section with other similar properties.
I wouldn't have even noticed it if not for this thread.

It looks like all the other bazillion two story houses they are building everywhere. I just wish they would buy all the houses on a street and them build these things. They look odd next to 1950s frame houses or 60s ranch homes (Bryan).

I like it as well. I'd call that more of a Robin's egg blue than turquoise.
