How long do you want to ignore this user?
Does anyone have any recommendations on furniture upholstery places around BCS? I saw a couple people on a previous thread recommend Ambrose. Just wondering if there are any others for price comparison. Thanks!

Really don't know of any other. Ambrose did 2 jobs for me. I left everything up to them including the fabric choice. They did a great job.

What can one expect to pay to reupholster a couch?

Actually it is the same as buying a new one. However, the couch I had was the right style and size for my smaller house. Everything I found at the stores here were massive couches that would be perfect for the big homes at Traditions and Miramont. Plus, my couch and chair too were extremely well made.

if you need new cushions, add $250 for cushions that you would set on..add $200 for back cushions

fabric , add $400

labor add $700

I had an antique settee reupholstered ..the size of a loveseat not sofa, I provided my own fabric and it was $600. They did redo some of the sprung springs. quality work and I have no complaint.

i have a customer of mine who buys used furniture from me at my store and has them recovered at Ambrose. she sends me after pics of the items and they look great. she swears by them, but i have no idea about their pricing.

Recycling an old topic and piece of furniture at the same time....

Is there anyone in Navasota, College Station, or Bryan that does upholstery on home furniture? I prefer to deal with a small operation to avoid paying for all the overhead for a bigger business.

There is a HUGE need for this type of business.

Typically speaking, a standard wingback chair (un skirted) labor starts at $395.
A 3 seat / 3 back sofa labor is going to range between $725 - $850. Many things set apart a great upholstery shop from a bad upholstery shop but you should always ask to see examples of their work as well as ask for referrals. You can always save $50 - $100 by shopping around and getting a less expensive price but the details and quality of the work are what you are going to notice and appreciate every day for the next 15-20 years on a quality job. If you have any questions or concerns please call and ask to speak to Ray. Our work is guaranteed and we have been doing custom upholstery work locally since 1984 with an outstanding reputation and 1000's of repeat customers and referrals.

Thank you,
Ray
