I'm curious... if you visited avalon in search of a wedding venue, and did NOT book it, Im curious to know if the main reason was the size of our building.

Reason I'm asking is we have blueprints for a 7,300 sq ft building, but the cost is about 3 times what we were thinking..

and of course i have to talk a bank into a loan, so please give me your input if it was building size? Like you were wanting feburary and had 500 people. Not somethignii would recommend for an outdoor wedding..

But if your reason is something else, please leave me ignorant at this time.

but if i can get lots of people to tell me that they didn't like us because of the building size, this might help convince a banker that we really need one and the benefits would be.... lucrative..

When we (read my wife) looked, the only comment she had was it wass going to be too big for Avalon. I am assuming she meant the facilities and the rain contingency, but can ask her for more detail if you want it. Main thrust was that @ 350 we were going to be too big, ended up only 250 and the weather was agreeable.

Yes, the main reason I went elsewhere was the size of the indoor area.

We checked out many places and wanted the perfect wedding for our daugther! We found it! Avalon.....................and I am one of those picky, very detailed moms. My needs were met and the wedding was unbelieveable even with a short rain shower!We had a tent! We had the Texas Twisters!!!!! It was perfect! Darrel will work with you and make it work!!!!! No stress on the moms! YEAY!

I have recommended Avalon for a few friends in the last few years. But they needed more room indoors. I have been a bridesmaid in a weddin there that was great though... I think a larger facility would work, especially if it had character. The building I mean.

google trewithen house in england... supposed to look just like that but with red brick stead of stucco.. inside would mostly be one big room...

stained concrete floor, wood beam ceiling, chandeliers, wainscoting, etc... spiffy... at least by my humble standards...
