If you are ever in downtown Houston, check out Bangkok Chef. They have a pad khee mao that rival's the old Thai Taste.

I've been eating there a lot and am spoiled as they know how hot I want my food prepared and are not afraid of preparing it that way, with a pitcher of water. And I say spoiled because they are significantly better than any local (BCS) restaurants in Thai cuisine; in taste, freshness of ingredients, presentation, price, service, atmosphere, and friendliness to customers.

Hey Saratoga: was at Lanna the other night and talked to one of the guys working thre. He said they did have an unofficial Thai "off the menu" list of stuff he makes for his Thai customers. Just passing this info along...you may want to ask about that if you go there...or maybe you already did?
