ro - that post doesn't make you old - because I'm not old and I worked at the mall while those things were in place...
A mall is a mall - they are all suffering as shoppers choose lifestyle centers for shopping. When I worked there, our store was one of the top in the chain and I have no reason to think that same store doesn't still perform as well.
The mall doesn't cater to our age group (between babies in strollers and senior citizens), so we don't go very often. Students may complain about the mall, but they still head to Victoria's Secret, American Eagle, the Mac counter and more.
Mommies still head to Gymboree and we even still frequent Justice - there are stores there that attract shoppers.
Last I heard POM was about to undergo major updates, but then the economy flopped and now all is in limbo.
I'm sad to see CFA close, but if someone else offers more money for the space - it happens.
*If* POM were to close Sear's and create an open air end similar to other malls headed out toward BJ's and Chuy's - it could return to a destination. *could* - we shall see
