it's kinda there for me too. The fan show segments are brutal.

I hardly ever listen to Chip, and I'm actually a fan of when he does some of his weird interviews(doyle brunson, etc). His show overall just isn't very good IMO.

I actually tend to like Louie's show. I know he isn't great with the delivery, but I do like some of his takes and how he handles the show overall, and I like listening to his weekly sports writers discuss various sports.

I'm surprised people allow such things to have so much control over their lives.

I think Krista is only on 2-3 times a week for about 30 minutes or so each of those days.

So, at least 20 radio stations in this town to choose from, or choose to just turn the radio off, but, no... someone chooses to get all riled up and upset over less than .5% of the local radio content in a given week.

Here's a hint. If Chip was losing money because of this, he would probably stop doing it.

1. 3 times a week for 30 minutes means that is 60% of most peoples driving time on their way home in the evenings each week. Way too much.

2. There is only ONE sports talk station in this town. THAT is the problem. Many are like me and prefer to listen to news or sports talk in the car, not music.

3. People are not getting riled up. They are expressing their opinions on a local website. And trust me, they are not the first to complain about this.

It's sports talk. Stick to sports. Come down to Houston and chose any of the 3 stations in town and see how it is REALLY supposed to be done.

Again, there are other stations to listen to.

So, it is not 60% of the time.

If you truly must listen to sports talk for your drive home, then use the free-market to your advantage and get satellite radio.

Or call the radio station and complain. I can pretty much guarantee that 10-20 anonymous cowards moaning and groaning on a website is not going to get anything changed.

My vote is FOR Chip and Krista. I think they are witty, topical and fun to listen to. Plus, I've met Krista and she is VERY attractive. I know that shouldn't matter, but when you're listening to her and can picture her saying some of the funny things she says, it gives you a different perspective.

For topical talk radio on the way home, check out Jeff Ward on 590 KLBJ out of Austin. You have to endure some horn talk, but only occasionally and not overbearing.

This thread is worthless without a picture of Krista.

But, in case you're referring to me when you object to people "such things to have so much control over their lives," I'm not. Go re-read my original post. In fact, what I had said was "Such is life, right? It's not like this is a genuine hardship. Just a pet peeve, and really nothing more." I don't like their segment. This is a local message board where folks talk about such things. But I'm not riled up about anything.

I just happened to catch her rant on my drive home from work - you were the only person I heard her mention specifically. From the sound of it, she took everyone's criticisms personally.

610 am out of Houston can be fairly entertaining, but its pretty much all Texans, all the time.

610 can be good, but during the Chip and Krista slot it breaks down like this:

I'd also like to say that I can't stand Mike and Mike in the Morning. Blowhards the both of them.

I enjoy TexAgs' show. They pull in some quality guests.

I'd rather be punched in the face than listen to Cowherd. The dude is blindly argumentative and totally lacks reasoning skills. He's just frustrating to listen to, especially when he takes calls.

the smartest and most enjoyable person to listen to for sports radio is Charlie Palilo outta Houston 790. i don't even think its close.

as for Chip..great guy (I've met him) and his show has potential to be good but he needs to get rid of Christa, the entertainment garbage, and most of all the fishing. nobody cares about those things.

also dont like that he feels the need to rip off other bits from other stations (fran on a phone) in order to try and be funny.

I didn't listen yesterday. (Like I said, I try to avoid listening to that segment, and yesterday I wasn't in someone else's car, so I followed my normal listening habits as described in the original post.)

The idea that any myBCS or TexAgs forum gets discussed on the radio is pretty sad.

The internet is a medium for information, just like newspapers and TV. Is it sad that stuff said in Newspapers or on TV is discussed on the radio?

agree with OP. a 60 year old trying to do 25% of his daily radio show on pop culture doesn't work. it's not funny or entertaining. at 5:30 the radio goes to another station.
