You know, for reasons in addition to, but including this particular thread, I really get tired of some of the know-it-all mentality on this forum. Generally speaking though, there are a lot of intelligent, thoughtful and well informed people on here who make it really worth the read and continued participation.

This particular thread has gone from a simple question to motive guessing and bashing to highbrow judgements about each others' choices.

I fall into none of the dietary/weight loss needs mentioned here, but am also a Medi Weightloss fan/client.

I understand the people who don't want to be seen at the gym - stared at by the beautiful people with a glow on their skin and little wires out of their ears... the people who, in the group classes pose for and admire themselves in the mirrors as they pump way more weight than or endure more cardio than those of us with pokey-out bellies can. The gym is a study in degradation for people who truly have weight LOSS needs.

All that being said, the beautiful people at the gym have either always maintained or have achieved maintenance mode. They don't deserve ridicule any more than the overweight person who is there, trying to figure out where to begin.

As I mentioned previously about my weight loss needs, I went to Medi with only 20 pounds to lose. People with more weight to lose look at ME in the same highbrow fashion as some of the people on this thread have exhibited... "ONLY 20 pounds? Really? You could probably skip a meal and get over that." But let's add to this the fact that I am only 4'10". Now, look up what 20 pounds on my frame means.

My point is that no matter what our needs are, we all have to find that diet/system/plan/class/workout video that works for us. Who's to say Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers or Gold's Gym or The Firm videos or Atkins or South Beach or Medi is right or wrong for anyone?

I happen to be one of the biggest tightwads who's ever walked. I also happen to be fortunate enough to be able to choose where I spend my money. Medi is good for me, it keeps me accountable, it keeps me paying something every week, but overall, no more than I've spent elsewhere on fitness or weightloss. It does, in any event, keep me aware and remind me weekly that I. Am. Still. Paying. And guess what. With 20 little pounds to lose, I continue to hover at that 10ish pound mark. (which - keep in mind - is HALF for me) But I am going to do it. Then, I'll pose with Chuck for my "after" pics.

I quit smoking 16 years ago. I have been struggling with weight ever since. I have tried other weight loss programs with fair results, but I would never reach my goal and would put the weight back on after quit.

I ran into Chuck about six weeks ago and could not believe how good he looked. He told me about the Medi-Weight Loss. I joined the Monday after Thanksgiving. I have loss about 14 lbs so far. Still about 35 to go. It can be tough going Xmas party's and not being to eat what I want at this stage of the plan, but when I am using notches in my belt that I have never used before, it makes it worth it.

When I was in my 20s and 30s I too used sneer at overweight people, thinking it should be simple to loss weight. To those sneering at this plan, wait 20 years.

You are a rock star. Keep up the healthy choices and exercise after the weight loss and it's easy as cake, wait no, it's easy as a grilled chicken salad...
