Casa Rod in Downtown Bryan
My wife and I are Ninfa's peeps mainly, but enjoy others too.
Most authentic MEXICAN food, is El Sol De Mexico on corner of MLK and Texas. Real mexican.
El Vale on William J Bryan. Coming from downtown it's on your left just before you get to Highway 21.
La Botana on WJB our preferred. We also like Mi Pueblito on South College and Casa Rod.

We can't do this topic every month without the obligatory On the Border.

Mi Hacienda in Snook! Great Salsa and very clean!

As always ... El Sol de Mexico. Comes complete with panhandlers right outside. Authentic enough? Food is very good.

It depends on what you want.
If you want Tex-Mex there's a lot of that, like Casa Ole.
New Mexico-Mex Chuys is the closest so I'm told. Mex-Mex, people say that Del Sol place is pretty good.
For Baja go to Fuzzys Tacos. For So-Cal for to Easterwood, buy a plane ticket to San Diego, and have a cab take you to Los Panchos or Plaza Del Pasado.
Abuleos is ok too.

Papa Perez is the only one that tastes close to my mother's food, so it gets my vote.
I don't get the hype about Casa Rod... I've tried a lot of dishes there, and just have not been impressed, and same with La Botana.

For baja/so-cal you can skip fuzzys and easterwood airport and just go to la bodega

I like Mi Familia in the Shell Station at Barron and Hwy 6. Also, I'm looking to try some more places in Bryan. Keep the suggestions coming. El Vale is next for me.

While I agree that casa rod is hyped up, I think people are entitled to their opinion. Just saying. My vote goes for el sol and arandas. I have yet to try el tio but I've heard good stuff.

I like Casa Rod, but their margaritas are awful.
Mi Familia Coco Loco. Best tacos al pastor, lengua, barbacoa, and carne guisada I've had in town, hands down. Charro beans fantastic too, loads of flavor and spice.

I have my favorite dishes at different places. But, overall Casa Rod gets my vote. So take that! Ha.
Im easy to please.I like Casa Rod and Papa Perez the same. I just go to whichever has the shorter line.
Also, I'm that guy who gets al carbon or al pastor tacos everywhere I go. Both places do a good job of those.
I even like the fajita tacos at Rosas.

My family loves Papa Perez and yes, they have a fantastic bar too!
