I'm searching for a location for a 1st and 3rd party. I'd rather not use the childre's museum, powersports, or mcdonald's, but I dont think there are any other reasonably priced options. Any suggestions? It would be for a small party of about 10 children.

Whats wrong with home? I just attended a backyard birthday party last weekend that was so simple and cute. It was a Backyard Waterpark themed party for 4 year olds. They had 2 small, plastic kiddie pools filled with plastic balls to dive into. There were 3 larger plastic kiddie pools to swim in [various colors], plus a slip-n-slide and a water table.

The really cute part was the various water sprinklers they had setup around the backyard. At the swing set, they had one of those oblong sprinklers where the arm moves back n forth, so the water would sprinkle on the kids now and then while swinging.

They also had the type that turns in a spiral motion set up to play in and then a typical sprinkler that you stab into the ground that sprays in a stream, in spurts. They were all set up in different parts of the yard and they had a few beach balls and cheap, rubber balls located at each sprinkler setup.

It was one of the cutest and most original kid parties I have ever seen.

I know home seems great but it rarely is for the host. Sorry, I have four and I got over trying to enjoy throwing kid parties at my house around kid 2's 3rd bday. but maybe that's just me.

As for suggestions, we just did one at Tiffany Park splash pad from 10:30 to 12:30 on a Saturday. No one else was there, picnic tables, playground, bathrooms, shade. We brought buckets and sponges and water guns...kids had a blast in the heat. The whole bummer was the wind. Destroyed my table decor and balloons. But who cares. It was free!

Other suggestions-- gymnastics places...though not always cheap and maybe a little too old for your crew. City pool -- like hallaran with gradual beach entry or adamson kiddie pool.

Can't think of any other great options just now but if I do I will post them!

my house is pretty small
its 110 degrees outside
I have no trees or shade
fire ants ( despite treatment)

If I could have it here, I most definitely would, but it is really not feasible.

Ugh, I do not enjoy party planning!

What is wrong with the places you listed? Please do not make the parents of your guests endure the awful heat!!! Even if the kids like it, it is a burden on everyone! We went to a party at McDonald's and it was clean, cool and very well organized/run. For my daughter's 2nd birthday we just ordered lots of pizza and had friends over INSIDE the house. It's really hard to keep ice cream and cake from totally melting in seconds in this heat.

Although it is an outside option, any of the city pools offer birthday party packages. At least the parents could get in the pool too!

McD's was one of the best and cheapest parties I ever did. They provide all of the food including cake, set up everything, and clean up everything! I think it was $60 when we did it about 3 years ago. Right now I think it really is necessary to do it indoors. Splashpads are okay, but it's pretty miserable for the adults. We did Chuck E Cheese a few weeks ago, but it was pretty expensive, imo. Hope you find something that will work!

Michaels has a party room that you reserve for $50. You can choose a craft, which you have to pay materials for, and bring your own party supplies, food, cake, etc. They use your deposit to pay for the party room and attendant. Basically, $50 plus the craft supplies and you're done. They have a "messy party" theme that would be great for that age group.

We did Gatti Town by CS Target for my son's 4th birthday in January and really enjoyed it. It is not too expensive considering it includes food, drinks, party host (who does balloon animals and games), and game cards. All we brought was the cake. I preferred it to Chucky Cheese because we got a private room.

I didn't know about Michaels that is a good option. I hate that they closed the Bounce we went to 3 parites there and it was perfect for toddlers. I would suggest Gattitown over CEC as well, the private rooms are worth it IMO.

U Paint It has a party room. The young ones can do hand prints.

Yeah, I din't give too much thought to the heat. They had ceiling fans on their covered porch, so it wasn't so bad last weekend. Plus it wasn't 106 friggen degree's.

Hope you find something fun that will work for ya!

Does anyone know the number to the Rock Prairie Mcdonalds?

The only one I could find has been busy for the last few hours.

Maybe try calling the Blockbuster instead and ask them?

We just did a movie theater party for 5 year olds, and while cool, it wasn't cheap (especially if you pick up the tickets for the parents). Don't think I'd do that one again.

Here in Houston we have a place called the Little Gym and they do tumbling parties for toddlers, you might check with some of the local gymnastics places and see if they do parties. The little ones love it.

Might also check out the bowling alley. They put runners in the gutters so the kids never get gutter balls. We've been to a couple of those.
