I had a business tell me that they were mailing something to me on Thursday and I still haven't received it.

I live in Bryan and have the same problem. Infact it has gotten so bad that I have switched over so I get a copy of all my bills online. I was getting some of the bills a day or two before and one time AFTER it was due.

They have lost several packages. Some were items sent from friends or family and a few were things ordered online. I have made complaints but they always tell me it is a problem they can do nothing about.

I have tracked a package online all the way to a Bryan post office then never got it. They claimed they never received it but their own online tracking says it was delivered there.

Bryan/College Station mail is usually processed in a processing center in North Houston. From what I was told when I had problems with local mail a few years back, all sent mail is sent to Houston to be sorted and then it is sent back to College Station.

jeez. I remember when we used to get mail before noon and the trash was picked up a 8am on the dot.

From what I've heard, Bryan's mail is processed here (for the time being anyways, they are trying to change it) and College Station's mail is sent to Houston for processing.

With gas prices being so high, I still haven't figured out how it's cheaper to send all the mail to Houston for processing, then sending it back.

Quarter of a tank of gas a day (especially if they have a fuel efficient vehicle and I'm guessing they only drive the mail once a day) vs. building a processing center, hiring and paying the employees to staff the center, and the upkeep of the processing center.

You have to give time to the hardworking honest people in the Houston sorting centers to triage that mail for you and make sure there are no checks or gift cards you don't need in there.

How do you even find a 15 yr old post to open back up to rant on the usps. As I recall we had a long one about 3-4 yrs ago when the mail started going to Houston rather than being sorted in BCS.

So far the recent record is having 3 different addressee's mail in my mailbox

Delivery time appears to be variable from two days to two weeks.

As far as being rerouted, every week one or two of my mail items get rerouted to my neighbor's homes.

99% of what I get is trash and doesn't make it into the house. I pay all my bills online automatically.

I typically experience minimal mail volume on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays. Tuesdays generally compensate for this reduced activity. While one may interpret this pattern as one sees fit, I suspect that my regular delivery personnel utilize these days for personal leave or illness.

Yep. Tuesday and Wednesday are makeup days for sure. Friday and Saturday they are pulling a Newman and shoving mail bags into a storage unit.

5 week days not including the day it was dropped off. Expect it on Monday.

We got mail today!

It was mostly junk but I'll take it.

Postal carrier was blasting down the road and didn't slow until she saw me standing in the driveway putting something into the car.

Either she was going to skip us today, or she normally does jackrabbit starts and stops in as short a distance as possible.

Both are plausible scenarios.

So, with the pressure off of USPS by Amazon doing their own deliveries. It seems like the USPS has lost a number of their contract carriers to Amazon as well. We get mail sporadically now.

How much did it cost you to send it? How long has it been so far?

We have high expectations for that $0.78 stamp to get our mail to us next day...or even across the US!

Big picture, I find it amazing that a stamp is still under a $1. Amazing when you think how far it will go on such a cheap shipping rate.

It was sent to me.

I never got the mail. It was a check so we had to stop pay it.
