Does anyone know of anywhere that I can buy saltwater fish in Bryan-College Station? I havent' had a tank up and going in many years, and I used to shop at this fantastic place that was on the corner of Texas Ave. and Holleman, but it doesn't look like Petco or PetSmart carry saltwater fish. Any others I've missed?!

Nope..

Best place to go is City Pets in Houston... best selection of corals and fish, also nicer priced..

There is a local saltwater fb page... But not a lot of traffic..

I have my 200 gallon sitting in my garage...

Fish Gallery in Houston also has a nice selection. Lack of suppliers is one reason I have fresh water

petco here does sell marine fishes (ok, they did a couple of weeks ago...hold on, calling to verify...).

Agreed, you will get better selection in Houston.
(Yes, petco does sell marine fish).

I've also been a fan of Aquarium World, but I admit I didn't check out all the other places- mainly b/c I wasn't seriously up past my gills in tanks here like I was when I lived near DFW (more than 12 tanks, half salt, half fresh...).

reeflounge used to be a good forum for SW fish, may wanna check there.

Good luck!

Maroon lagoon used to be run out of someones house in Bryan, but I think due to some personal issues they closed up shop.

Wasn't there a guy in College Station that had a shop that was for appointment only (he mostly maintained tanks for offices) there in those strips of shops behind TSC?

dunno..

it's the tank, stand, hood, 3 400wt metal halide ballast and bulbs, sump, 3 little giant and iwaki pumps (forget how big but they're massive pumps) calcium reactor, protein skimmer, chiller, 3 35 gallon drums of live rock in water, sand and gravel, and other various salt water stuff...

most people dont need that much...

I have a 220. Most of my fish/coral come from Aquarium World in Houston. Some things are from Petco but you really have to look in their tanks. They had ick a few months back that made it hard for anything to survive. BTW, Petco does offer special orders.

Thanks for all of the information - I've really been looking forward to getting my tank up and going, but this means it will be a little more work than I had expected - guess it gives me a good excuse to head to Houston for a yummy lunch before fish shopping, though!
