When I get a PTTS ticket I take it over to the chump who wrote it and tear it up and throw the pieces up in the air. While they rain down, I say, "Let's Party" and give him a roundhouse kick to the face.
So you're saying I shouldn't do that for fear of a release ticket?

Was this really a change in policy or simply this one particular PTTS agent going on a little power trip?

Just FYI, PTTS wonks REALLY get grumpy when you call them a meter maid.

Yelling at the ticket writers who are doing their job is wrong. I think they make $9, yet people who knowingly break the rules think its okay to yell at and name call at these folks.

Got a problem, Call Transportation Services (PTTS is so yesterday).

If you park in your lot, you will not be ticketed or towed.

Most parking enforcement officials are not students. Some are students, but most are full time salary positions. Ever park in the wehner pay lot? Its almost like a handbook in how to fubar parking enforcement.

The official TS policy is available by logging into your account. A summary: "Vehicles of customers with three or more unpaid citations or with a $100.00 balance due may be towed and impounded at the owner's expense until the account is paid in full." There has been no change in the rules. I don't think A1 has all the information. There can be special event parking which is a different story.

I disagree with IvannaV. Sorry, but from my own personal experience, you can and will get towed even if you are parked in your assigned lot and have a hang tag visible. My hang tag fell from the rear view mirror but was still plainly visible from the dash and my truck was still towed and I received two tickets. One for "not having a hang tag" and one for the tow. It took them more than half an hour to even tell me that my truck was towed (instead of possibly stolen) and then another 15 minutes to figure out where they had towed it to. Then I had to get a ride from main campus to West campus to where they had it towed. I called the next day and oomplained and they recinded the tickets.

ATuntner I'm not sure. I've seen a few vehicles with the pass taped on the windshield above the reg sticker.

Me thinks if you offer a happy meal to a PTTS officer they will blank your ticket.

Looks like they have been accepting a lot of happy meals lately.

Would you guys mind keeping the negative post in one of the other threads please. That way I don't have to read them and the people who do want to know about this stuff don't have to wade through the false stuff.

Bull-****ing-****! When I walk out and see a parking ticket for "no tag displayed" that is on my windshield DIRECTLY UNDER MY TAG I will yell and call them whatever in the hell I want. I had to appeal it (successfully) and then got a lecture from them in how to avoid the situation in the future, though admitting no fault of their own (sound familiar?). If there's another way to hang a tag from a rearview mirror, I'm not aware of it.

btw, don't ever mention texags to the ladies at the counter in Koldus. I went to pick up one of those "burnt orange"-looking parking passes they had a couple of years ago, and was talking to a friend that was with me about something i saw on texags, and that PTTS lady went on a 2-minute tirade about how much she hates texags.

As far as a release ticket, that sounds like if you come and find a tow notice on the windsheild prior to A-1 arriving. As far as how a vendor gets paid, the vendor bids on the work. TAMU would not choose to pay someone no matter what if another vendor was willing to do otherwise.

I think A-1 should be careful about spreading miss information if he wants to keep his contract. I would imagine they deal with enough urban legends on campus without having those who they pay spreading it too.

in short, most people writing tickets arent educated enough to get a real job so arguing is a moot point as they wont understand a darn thing you say.

I just called transport... Guy on the phone said it's still 3 tickets (or $100 worth of tickets, whichever comes first) before you are towed.

Is it true that if I get into my car, you can not tow me?

I was dumb about 3 years ago and parked without paying in the Wehner lot. When I came out the driver was hooking up my car. I did the usual begging and pleading but he said nope and towed it. My friend said that if I had gotten into my car he couldn't have towed me. Is that true?
