It was more than autosuggestion. The owners picked up on the Black sambo theme and advertised it as their icon with Little Black Sambo with the tiger.

The racist part began when some black leaders thought the use of Little Black Sambo was a derogatory statement and I remember them campaigning for all blacks to boycott the restaurant.

I have the original LP soundtrack of Songs of the South. Don't know what to tell you George07, guess there is huge gap in the two years between us. I used to listen to that album on my Sesame Street record player.

Some kids received a well-rounded upbringing, some did not.

I hereby consider the Cracker Barrel a racist establishment and demand they change their name.

Please join me in my march.

Indeed! Where do I register my outrage? Do you have a newsletter?? While I'm wound up, I want to add Fish Daddy's to the protest list for gender discrimination and animal cruelty!!

...and it's not fair to call all daddies fishy, implying that they are crooks. Just not PC.

The name of the restaurants should be changed to Food-1, Food-2, etc.

I remember it. My dad used to take me there when I was a kid. I delivered the newspaper and it was always a treat after delivering those bulky Sunday papers. It was actually located where Raising Cane's is (Old Wings and More). Wow, memories.
