Best place(s) to buy a suit?

I have been very pleased with the service and prices at Men's Wearhouse on Texas near Holleman.
If you know your size, you can get a much better suit online for less money than at any of the local stores.
Do a search on ebay for Daniele. The suits are half canvassed which will cost you at least $800 (when not on sale) at one of the local stores. I've seen those same suits retail under the "Baroni" name for $900+ at stores.
Do a google search to read about the difference between canvassed, half canvassed, and fused suits.
If you're not in a hurry and really want to buy locally, I'd wait for one of Jos Banks' sales on their signature gold suits. They're a decent suit when on sale. Right now they're $500.

I'm fairly certain Mens Warehouse doesn't have a comparable half canvassed suit.
Whichever way you go, I'd suggest finding a competent tailor to do alterations and avoid the in store tailors. It's worth the drive to Houston to get a suit tailored correctly.

Thanks for the advice. Had bad luck with Jos A Bank tailors in another town. Also feel like Banks had cheaper stuff. Not sure about gold series. They mark everything up so high though so that they can do an 80% off sale.
we had really good luck with men's warehouse in aug. great service and we got some free tailoring. Plus they steam your suit for free for the life of the suit. If go during a sale you can get a really good deal.

The only 2 places to get nice well made suits in town are Harley's and Dillard's(Daniel Cremieux house brand at Dillard's is a quality product).
'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man... per ZZ Top. It really depends on what quality of suit you want. Something to get by - Mens Warehouse can fix you up for not much money. You can spend as much as you want depending on the quality you want.

Understandable. IMO, JAB is a higher quality than Men's Wearhouse. Their pricing policies leave much to be desired, and the local store doesn't stock much. The Sig Gold for $500 is a good value right now. I use Nick Lopez in Houston for tailoring and have always been pleased.

Expect to pay $50-200 on tailoring depending on what the suit needs done to fit correctly, but it'll be done right by someone that knows how a suit should fit.
If the local Dillards carries the Daniel Cremieux "Signature Collection", that would be a decent choice. Those suits are made by HSM and should be half canvassed. Also, the Hickey Freeman Collection (not Limited) suits Dillards carries are a decent value.
It all comes down to how much you want to pay. Good luck with your hunt.
Oh, good God, man -- take the hit and drive to Houston where you can go to Brooks Brothers and buy a real suit for men that will last for years and not look like something your mother picked out for you. While you are there you can also swing by a place like Sym's for a sweet deal on some nice accessories -- over coats, ties, even shoes. They also have some nice suits once in while that you could buy off the rack and have tailored here. Also the Blue Bird Circle Shop on Richmond has been known to have the occasional Armani un-tailored suits from NeedlessMarkup's close-outs... Good luck.
Just to keep this topic in perspective, what should a "good" suit cost? It's hard to judge some of your responses because I don't know how much you are talking about.

Decent or good? A decent suit should be at least half canvassed. You can get one for $300 on ebay that is quite a bit better than a $900 suit at Men's Warehouse. Others are available for $500-900.
A full canvassed (good) suit will cost from $500 on sale if you know what you're looking for to many thousands of dollars for a bespoke suit. The average is around $1200 for something fully canvassed with decent fabric. Then you'd need to add in tailoring costs to either.
The $300 ebay suit becomes really attractive to someone that rarely wears a suit since they get an $800-900 suit for $500 out the door (or less) after having it tailored.
