Who here locally is the best to work with, i called John Moore plumbing/AC and he qouted us at 400 to recharge freon, 300 to clean coil and 6,000 to replace whole unit, the unit cools a 3 bedroom 2 bath trailer that is 80 feet by 40 feet. Are these prices reasonable? And does anyone have any reccomendations on who to use or what to do?

Call barkers in the morning. That seems high. We had one replaced at work, the entire unit and it was less than 5k.

John Moore is very high. Barkers is just high. The larger companys have a large overhead to pay for. Their prices can be twice as high as a quailty one horse outfit. Just ask around about the small guys. Some are very good and some can't get jobs with the big guys because they aren't any good. So you can get very good or very bad with them. I have been really happy with Lavco. They have worked on my AC at my house and my brother-in-law's.

Lavco has done great work for us in the past, and they're outright honest and upfront.

Trailers are tricky to heat and cool and often cost more to replace the equipment than in a house of the same size. The reason is the duct work in the trailer. The small duct work causes a high static pressure that needs a blower rated to handle the resistence.

When I worked for Lennox, the only gas furnance that we had that would work on a trailer was the most expensive in our line.

Repair costs should be comparable to a house.
