Looked like he was hit by City trash truck.

Damn.

Was he walking or driving? I assume the latter but I'm not completely clear on it.

Hope he's ok.

He was driving I assume and pulled out in front of a trash truck. I will leave out the details but it looked pretty bad.

His name is Zach Graybill, although it was reported on evening news as John Graybill. (Given name) He was taken by life flight to Temple and his vitals are good, although he has a broken pelvis and a lot of internal damage. I think they are stabilizing him for surgery, but I'm not sure of that.

He has a lot of family in town, as well as a little girl. His stepfather is extremely ill and his sister is graduating college this weekend.

Please please pray for Zach and his family.

RockyMountainAg - there was never any indication that a trash truck was involved in the accident. It appears that it was a single vehcile crash.

I am glad to hear that they were able to stablize the driver enough to get him transported. T&P

Was he wearing a seat belt?

rock - I don't know. I do know he was thrown out of the vehicle and completely across the road to the opposite bar ditch. That either means "no, he wasn't" or "the seat belt failed." They were still working the crash when I left work at 6:00 PM on Thursday so I never saw the completed report (I was off yesterday). I was on scene but tried to stay away from the immediate crash area as much as possible so I would not disturb any of the wreckage. The vehicle was very, very badly damaged.

I will have to check the report on Monday.
