just heard the version on the radio and it really sounds awesome...you can listen to it on youtube under Mo-Wattz makes an Aggie Beat...listen to it and comment on how you like this version....
He said the Essay Potna (also form BCS) made a mix of the same song first. Niblett from Candy 95 uses that first version (and has for several years) when TAMU athletes come in the studio for interviews.
I did not attend A&M but I have a lot of respect for its traditions. When I hear this song, which I played in my high school band a long time ago, I think of the Aggie Band marching across the field. It's an awesome sight and very majestic. The music itself fills the air. This new cut, while upbeat, just doesn't do it for me. Some things just don't need to be tampered with!
I thought the new version would be fun to throw in once in a while. Keep the traditional version for the march in and just sprinkle this one in for a little variety. Nice work.
I'd have a problem with Noble Men of Kyle being used for player intros. It's the Aggie Band's signature march. The Aggie Bandsmen (and women) are the Noble Men of Kyle. Not the players, fans, or anyone else. It would be like playing "Luv Ya Blue" for the Astros introduction.
As far as this "remix", I hope I never hear it again.
