He escaped Monday morning about 10 am. He was being transported from Huntsville to Beaumont. Somewhere around Conroe he produced a handgun, fired a shot, and forced the guards to drive him around. He ended up in Baytown and forced the driver to park behind the City library, where he took their guns and uniform, handcuffed them together and took off. The guards were able to get loose and call for help. We had a full scale search for him yesterday - choppers, dogs, horses,.. the works. But he had about an hour lead before anyone knew he was gone.

I spent 2.5 hours of lockdown with Kinders thanks to that fiasco...

I spent all day in a parking lot in the cold and rain dealing with the media because of that guy...
And our poor librarians spent all day in lockdown because he picked the lot behind their library to escape in. When PD let them leave, they all had to have their trunks checked... They were pretty shook up knowing he'd been right outside their back door.
