My wife is thinking about utilizing his services to get back into marathon running shape. Has anyone here used him before?

My wife has been going to his Adventure Bootcamp for Women every day for...oh, probably a couple years now. Super nice guy who really seems to care about the well-being of his clients. If you're looking for more specific info though, I'm afraid I can't help ya.

If she wants company during her runs then why not have her join one of the local marathon training groups?

If she does not need the company then there are many training programs published on the web that she can get for free.

Most folks don't actually end up training with Cliff unless it's with the Boot Camp.

However, he has excellent trainers that do the personal training.

My husband and I go there. We train with Christian and he's awesome. We are currently doing interval training M, W, F. Strength training T, R.

IN my opinion, training with a trainer is ideal when you need expert knowledge, additional accountability, and instantaneous feedback.

My girlfriend has also been doing one of his bootcamp classes in the afternoon for about two months now. She loves it and I think it's been really good for her overall.

Cliff is a great guy and I've been riding bikes with him for several years now. My wife has been going to the bootcamps for some time now as well.

Those will get you in shape, but I'm not certain I'd make that my primary training program for a marathon. Is this just to get the body going before a marathon program?

I wish I could still afford the bootcamp, but alas.... I did the bootcamp for a while and loved it. definitely wouldn't recommend it strictly for marathon training. Cliff couldn't be nicer and you could just tell his primary concern was on making each person there get in the best shape possible.

Cliff has a HUGE following - and for good reason. He is a fantastic trainer and a super nice guy. Clients and former clients include everything from Olympic Track & Field athletes to, well, everyone else.

I've talked to a LOT of his clients. They LOVE him - and have voted him Best of the Brazos for the last 8 years.

I also know a LOT of the trainers in our town. Each has expressed real admiration and respect for Cliff.

Thank you for all the kind words...
I would be glad to help your wife with marathon training. I am currently training 6 marathoners at the moment and have done 5 myself in the past. I don't market the marathon training currently, but if she needs help, I would be glad to help write her program or have her join our female interval running group.

We have our own private studio on Harvey Road, in the Woodstone Shopping Center, just down from the Tap. It is called Fitness Together and we have 4 private studios, as well as a cardio area.

Oh and one more post... no, bootcamp is not designed for marathon training at all. Maybe in a marathoners off season, for some strength and agility, but a runner needs to run and any other exercises or workouts that are done are secondary. It's good to cross train to help build balance and avoid injuries, but they won't directly make someone a better runner. Sports specificity....
