Finally, some normal opinions on this thread. I really wish my parents could have made it to mine. I'm so glad I was able to do it when it was still allowed on the promenade, and I didn't puke at all. Continued drinking about 30 minutes later, and I DIDN'T drive home.

I dunked mine in the Chicken in '94.
Class of '93 here and ring dunking was very popular when I got my ring.
One of the very last to chug a pitcher on the Promenade!

Class of '00 here. Most of my buddies and I dunked at the Chicken together (and MANY of our parents were there). Good times, man, good times.
Got my ring in 87. Tradition was quite common. I drank alot of beer, but never dunked mine.
Class of '94 here too. I happily dunked my ring in a pitcher of Shiner inside the Chicken surrounded by my best friends. Good times, good times.

I had to combine my ring dunk with a birthday party. I poured three 32oz Smirnoff Ice in a unused tea pitcher and downed it after eating a large amount of strawberry cake. Not the best decision I ever made. When I vomited a bit in the bathtub, I freaked out, mistaking the peels from the strawberries for my stomach lining.
All in all, dunking rings is pointless, but it sure is fun.
