Has anyone been to our county clerk's office to get a copy of their BC from another county? How long did it take you to get it in the mail?

I think they said 4-6 weeks, and it has been at least 7 weeks now, and I still haven't received it.

It depends on how busy they are. It took about 10 weeks to get my daughter's last year. She was born in Harris County but I think we got the certificate from Austin.

I don't know if the City of College Station also provides this service but
I do know the Office of the Bryan City Secretary headed by the
nationally recognized City Secretary Mary Lynne Stratta does.

(979) 209-5002 Looks like it would be $23.00 and "A photo I.D. and completed application are required when requesting certified copies of birth ... certificates."

Getting it from the City of Bryan is probably the fastest route, but it's worth pointing out that you can order a copy of your certificate from the state online now: http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/VS/reqproc/certified_copy.shtm

I got a copy of mine from the city of Bryan a few years ago. I want to say it was the same day.

I got a half page document, but I was assuming I would get the full one in the mail?

21 posted the right info. The Brazos County Courthouse will be able to provide you with immediately.

Hmm...I think the courthouse is where I went.

21 said the City of Bryan, not the county courthouse.

When I left the City of CS (about a year and a half ago), Brazos County and the City of Bryan can both do BC for births anywhere in Texas. The City of College Station only did them for births within the CS city limits. They should all be able to do them same day, unless there is a backlog. If you haven't gotten a birth certificate in a 3 or 4 years, expect a little sticker shock. The cost has risen dramatically - I want to say something like from under $10 to over $20 per certificate.

took me about 10 minutes to get my sons about a month ago. I think it was $27.00. Went to the courthouse in Bryan, it was super easy.

I got mine about six months ago, but whoever said it above is right...it's not at the county courthouse - you go to the City of Bryan building...the one with the deer statues fronting Tx. Ave.

Hmm...I don't know if I want to pay another $23, but I need to get a copy soon.

That half page document might be your full birth certificate. Three of my sons' were on a piece of paper that measured 5 x 7.

Perhaps, but my non-certified copy of my original certificate is full page with all kinds of info on it that the half sheet doesn't have.

Either way, it was enough to get me my passport! whoop!
