We went by last night for dinner and there were signs saying they were closed and to go to Jose's.

Anyone know what's up?

Maybe they were wanting to consolidate to one store instead of the two.

They closed several weeks ago. Though the service was good, I guess they couldn't keep up with the other 3 or 4 Mexican restaurants in downtown.

There was a note in the Eagle several weeks back that said they were closed due to the construction. Said they may open up later as a completly different restraunt. Not sure if was still going to be Mexican or not. But from what I read Zarapes is no more.

Wow, that's sad news for me. Used to be one of my favorite places to go downtown, next to Gina's.

I think that I heard that the guys who ran Zarape had taken over Cazadore's on Texas Avenue

My parents had their first date at Zarapes at their first location in College Station.

It should have closed a long time ago. Awful.

I've always preferred Los Nortenos

I really liked Zarape's and never quite got the hype over Los Nortenos

Los Norteno's is really gross. I try to avoid that place at all cost or make sure I don't have my contacts in or glases on.

Casa Rod is the best in downtown Bryan, with Papa Perez a very close second. For those that haven't heard, Gina's has opened up again at a new location, on Groesbeck St.

But for the best breakfast taco in town, check out Maggie's Tacquria next to the Shell Station / House of Tires on TX avenue. You'll thank me later.

My friends and I have been known to go to Casa Rod 3-4 times per week. Out of control.
