I live in Houston now so I drive Hwy 6 daily. Yesterday on my way home from work, I saw 4 State Troopers and 1 Brazos Sheriff in the first 2 miles of the construction zone on 6!! I have never seen this many. I guess they are cracking down again.

They pass me too but I rarely see cops in the morning to catch anyone.

I set the cruise control around 55 - 57 and move to the passing lane when I see faster drivers coming up behind me. Most of the time I get next to or close to someone going the same speed as me and have a rolling road block. and yes I know it's not right but I am the person doing the speed limit. and yes I know I can be a jerk sometimes.

JHLrealtor, exactly who are you speaking of in your "guess they have forgotten about all the kids who died through there". Are you talking about the Troopers that work that stretch?
quote:
55 is too effing slow

everyone should just buy good radar detectors...problem solved

No, it isn't justified....Do some math...how much ticket revenue do they get if they keep it 55 for a while? How much would they get if it was a reasonable speed like 65 or 70 during that same time span?
And there you have it...the main reason it is 55 mph. Some of you honestly think that money has NOTHING to do with tickets and that it is all about safety...complete bs...
