I want a set of JARTS. And replacement fins. Anyone know where to get some? Possibly the best yard game ever.

In case some of you don't know what Jarts are, they are also called lawn darts or yard darts. Retailers have not sold them since the late 80's because our federal government says they are "dangerous". They are not illegal to possess, just can't sell them at stores.

Haven't heard of those in a long time! Back in the early '80s was at a friends house and as he was picking up JARTS, another guy threw one. Hit the guy bent over in the head, and when he stood up he had that JART sticking up out of his head. Penetrated the skin to where to tip was lodged between skin and skull with JART sticking straight up. Funniest **** I've ever seen. Yes, I seem to rmemember alcohol being involved.

My grandma had a set. We'd be playing with them all the time when we were little kids, throwing them up in the air and trying to stick them into trees and stuff...and noone got severely wounded, though I can definitely see how it could happen..

As kids, me and my posse used to play Chicken with Jarts...throw them up and see how close you could get to the other guy so as to make him move...if the thrower actually hit the "stander", the thrower lost - as did the victim.

We may have been the reason for the ban.

We used to try to hunt squirrel and rabbits with them, too.

I lost my original set after a Jart came down in the middle of the hood of my dad's brand new 1982 toyota Corona.

I picked these up a few years ago at a yard sale.
