I really appreciate the information. I had no idea such resources were available. We still have about 5 weeks left in the season, so I'm hoping that I make contact with the rep in Laredo when our entire group can out in the pasture at the same time.

USDA Natrual Resources Conservation Service (the old Soil Conservation Service). They generally headquarter with the USDA Farm Services Agency (FSA).

Another good resource for this kind of help is through TPWD. If you can't get 83 out to your place, look up your TPWD county biologist and they can also come out to your property and give you some recommendations as well.

Brush Country Ag - Let me know how it turns out and we can compare notes. I'd gladly trade a little sweat equity ( and an ice cold beer afterwards ) for the chance to bump a 140-class buck into the 160-class.

I have not been back to the Junco this year, the last time I was there was the weekend Keith killed his deer. I got tied up at my ranch chasing a ghost!
