There have been time in W.Texas where I drive 30-40 or so at night. When I see 2-3 deer every mile right next to the road it tends to make one nervous.

about 2 weeks ago in crockett a guy hit a deer going towards Lufkin. He got out of his car to pull the deer to the side of the rode. The deer was a buck and one of his horns broke off. A car passed by and hit the broken horn and it flew into the guys leg. It hit in his groin region. He pulled it out and blood started to squirt out everywhere. He did survive but he was very lucky. That would have been on shatty was to go out.
Those have been floating around on the internet for a while. Pictures like these always make me debate whether it would be better to hit it head on or try to swerve out of the way. My sister had one jump over her hood, freaked her out needless to say.

BassAg, now that story makes more sense! The way it was told to me was the second car hit the deer knocking the whole thing into the air. I'll be sure to call my friend that told me the story an idiot and kick him in the sack!

yuck. I hit one going that fast a few years ago, the deer was cut in half. Busted my radiator and thousands of dollars in damage to my truck. It was no fun.

Can you imagine being some guy in the back seat? The driver yells "oh ****" and all of a sudden you are sprayed with blood and a piece of heart hits you in the face.

I hit a mule deer going about 70mph up in Treemonton, Utah. Luckily, I swerved and got his back half and avoided a situation where the deer came flying through the window.
It did about $2000 worth of damage to my roommate's car.

I drove up on a scene just like that on Interstate in Connecticut. The driver of a black Mercedes was standing on the side of the highway. She was covered in blood and rumen material. The windshield was blown out and the paunch and intestines were inside the car. The lungs of the deer were on the roof and the liver was sitting in the middle of the highway. The deer was literally cut in half.

the wreck was about 2 or 3 AM in cross plains, texas....we were on a road trip to lubbock and didn't get there till early in the morning...
it was about 20 years ago, so it's not fresh in my mind exactly how it happened, but in the morning, I look at my hands, my arms, my pants...had quite a bit of blood all over them

didn't stick around to chit chat....a couple of other vehicles were helping her (she seemed to be physically ok), we got the car and the horse off the road, and we got the hell out of dodge
My Dad has killed more deer with his pickup than he has ever killed with his rifle.

Would that deer come through the windshield of, say, a half ton truck or SUV?
by future BIL totaled his car last nite on RR12 when he hit a deer...he walked away but his car is fooked
