I hunted an 800 acre high fence place in Mtn Home-- the owner told me he hunted 8 days with a guy hunting a specific buck he had seen earlier-- never saw the deer-- I don't think that's shooting fish in a barrel; however I see ranches in Central Texas with 10 times the natural carrying capacity of deer-- that's when you see 50 deer come to a feeder-- not interested except maybe for a doe for meat

I've also seen the opposite. Outside the fence there is a deer to 5-7 acres under low fence. The browse and forb resource is absolutely hammered. Inside the fence there is a deer to 20 acres and the range condition is good. By the way, the deer inside the fence were wild as march hares while the ones outside were too hungry to pay much attention to people.
