SW golf course in Amarillo. Been years, but hands down the biggest dung pile in all of golf.

What about the old muni in Hearne. Back in the 80's we would put three dollars in a coffee can mounted on a tree and play.

A so-called golf course at a gas plant near Midkiff, TX. This place was 9 holes. During the green months you could only make out the tee boxes and greens. They were elevated about a couple of inches over the normal flat landscape. It was basically a pasture that had been cleared of mesquites with 9 greens and 9 tee boxes, no trees, no sandtraps. There were no real fairways, just open range that had been mowed down to the ground. The only part of the "course" that was irrigated was the greens. They used hose sprinklers that can be bought at Wal Mart for about $2. It was free. I do not believe that anyone can top this place as the worst golf course. The residential area near the gas plant was cleared out several years back and the golf course was left to blow away.

I agree with the LaMarque CC nomination, not exactly an exclusive 18 holes but the price was right when I was in med school in Galveston. I might add a public course I've played in Elkhart TX but I cant remember the name.

I played a course in Hail Center once in the late 80's...once! We had a foursome. Every one of us was pin high on the first hole with our drives. It was a par 5. The hard pan was rediculous. If it is still open and in the same condition, stay far, far away...

Longview Country Club aka Buster's on Hwy. 42 just outside of White Oak, TX. The typical play the ball off the nearest patch of grass course. You also get the feeling that you are gonna get lung cancer from the dust that swirls around the course. Add that to the fact that you have to play around some pump jacks, makes for a horrible round. But my dad wants to play there every holiday b/c it is five minutes from my grandparents house and I have trouble everytime I play there but his games stays the same so it gives him a chance.
