Has there been a conversation on this board about the Mealy bug? I'm just curious to know if the impact is going to be as significant as the hype.

I attended a talk earlier this month in Bryan where the Extension entomologist talked a bleak future. I had it in about 1/2 acre before our grass went downhill due to no rain and high temps. It apparently likes lush pastures and nearly any grass, although he didn't mention the bluestems.

It doesn't like really low temps.

I don't think that thread was about the pasture mealy bug.

Hit hard by the PMB in Fayette County.

Devastating. I've known of entire coasal hay operations wiped out.

As far as I know, the fix is very expensive and has to be repeated. I am feeding way too much hay because of the bug and because the Hill Country is covered in dove weed and milk weed. No grass.
