Got a good one for ya!
Digging through all the old reloading stuff I inherited and found this die. Not pictured are a couple of other rods, one with a ball end, two with a cup end. Also have some much shorter tubes with knurls. All are marked 240 COBRA. I assume those rods are to neck size and seat the bullet. However, I have no idea how this thing is used or how to even set it up! I have a .240 Cobra wildcat and no ammo has been loaded since dad died. The 240 belonged to his dad. This thing is very old!
Every seen anything like it or know how to use it??

Any chance there's a separate handle that would engage with the square peg or the two holes? Guessing it ends up working something like this style

No separate handle found, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be there. Where the square drive set-screw is on the block, there is a through hole.

I'll take more pics this evening and pull it apart to show all the pieces.

I've never seen anything like that, it's strange for sure.

CH4D will either make or may have dies for the .240 Cobra, I'd look them up if you want to load for that round.

Interesting. Looks more like a bullet mold to me than anything else.

Looking at it again, maybe part of an arbor press setup?

Either way, super cool. Love reloading gear, the weirder the better.

Yup. Part of an arbor press. I actually have this same model and mad I didn't recognize your picture immediately. Guess the stand and handle are so integral to it in my mind.

Definitely could be it! Difference being the long cylinder on mine has to be at the bottom. That's where the case enters. Working on some more pics.

Some more pics. The block has a "16" cast into it and the case tube, for lack of better term, is stamped B&M

The original rifle was stollen in the late 80's. Dad and I built a replacement 20 years ago. Same Bishop stock, same K98 action, but significantly upgraded the barrel with a Shilen. It was a great bonding experience. All that to say I have a PT&G chamber reamer to make a modern set of dies. Would be fun to run a few rounds through this one, though, if I have all the pieces to get it working.

That's cool as hell. Minus the stolen rifle part of course.

BM is Belding and Mull. Definitely vintage. I think they went kaput mid 1900s.

That's an inline reloading die. It's to be used in conjunction with the press and is a separate piece. You're missing the ram of the press. Along with the stand and handle. As far as the die, if that little knurled nutlooking part is the top like I am thinking, then I think you are just missing the base of it. Do the rods thread into that little piece?

They do thread in. Also have those threaded stops to make depth adjustments.

Additional eye candy!

Here is a quick timestamped video of how these work. Same video that convinced me to buy one of these as well. I think you may be missing a top plug too perhaps? Where the actual ram contacts and ? Not sure how these old ones are constructed exactly tbh.

Gorgeous rifle btw

I found a pic of an assembled unit! (Not mine) I remember seeing the black handled press as a kid. Hopefully it is still in all this reloading stuff!

Oh wow. I was totally wrong. That's a straight line reloading press like the super old school bullet swaging machines. Awesome find! (Assuming you can find the rest of it and assemble it)
