I hate to say it, but you should be checking turds for a few days. It should pass. That's a fairly big object but something that should smoothly work through the digestive tract and pass without harm, in theory.

How long ago? You can force feed hydrogen peroxide and cause vomiting if you are worried. I had a collie puke up an entire box of granola bars whole, still in the wrappers once.

I'd be concerned depending on how big the pit was. Our lab had a blockage and it was 4 or 5 days before it was apparent. When he started showing signs, he went south pretty quick and had to have emergency surgery. It was clothing though so it's a little different. .

If it is only in the stomach, you can give the dog a shot glass worth of over the counter hydrogen peroxide and it induces vomiting and if it can be swallowed, it can be vomited.

The issue is the pit might not easily pass from the stomach through the intestines, though dogs have pretty robust digestive tracts. If it gets stuck in there it will cause a serious medical issue that will require sedation and surgery. It will depend on if it was very large pit or a relatively small one.

I get that part..... I can't visualize a collie eating a box of granola bars whole.

Not sure why or how but he opened the box and swallowed all 10 granola bars and 9 of the 10 were still inside the wrapper completely. Maybe a couple of teeth marks. The 10th was only partly chewed up. He puked them all back up too, obviously

Never name your dog Chewy.

You may have already done this, but olive oil on his dog food should help. Hope all goes well.

When i was a kid in the sixties we had a Weimaraner that ate some whole chicken thighs and the baggie they were in. The baggie came out about an inch or so, just enough to Identify what it was. He was having a lot of trouble, walking around the house rubbing his rear on everything and whining with a baggie sticking out of his butt. I was elected to give it a yank. I did and we were lifelong friends after that. I was probably 8 or so. In recent history I had a 35lb lab swallow one of my winter socks. I didn't know it was missing until i found it in her kennel. Both dogs were fine.

I was raised on a dairy and we put cloth tube strainers over an insert and put it in the line going to the bulk tank to strain out impurities that might get in the mix. These strainers were about 2 foot long and an inch or so in diameter. We'd rinse them out and throw them away but you couldn't get the "milk" smell out of them. Somehow our dog Red ate one of them. I came out of the milk barn and he was hunkered up and straining trying to poop. About 6 inches of the strainer was sticking out his pooper so I knew what his problem was. I walked up to him , grabbed the end sticking out and very gently "helped" him accomplish his effort...........Red was a Weimaraner also. He also chased a grasshopper into the disc harrow while I was discing and cut off two of his toes.....

my late Dalmatian swallowed an avacado pit once, early in life. She was about 40 pounds, so similar size to your pup. It passed no problem. good luck!

I had a lab eat the rope with tied ends that had been put through one of those tiny tire chew toys. We found the tire piece torn apart and were like Where TF is the rope?

A couple days later, I saw the Lab in the backyard bucking like a Bronco with a slight "yelp", and 16" of "rope" flopping 'round out of her butt. Grabbed a glove and corralled her up and with a slight tug relieved here of her Bronco dreams.
"Green" is the new RED.
